Have you wanted to draw or sketch the stunning splendor of our landscape in its fall colors? Now you can! Randy Stout will help you discover the skills you need to capture what you see so you can keep it, enjoy it, and share it.

When: Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at SCLT Big Goose Natural Area (14 Lane Ln, Sheridan).

What to bring: Sketchbooks provided at no charge to registrants. Please bring drawing/sketching utensils and a lawn chair or blanket for however you prefer to sketch.

Emmy-winning Wyoming documentary filmmaker Sophie Barksdale presents a preview excerpt of her new film 'Crossing the Threshold' - a Veteran-centred documentary about serving your country and what happens when you come home. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a 20min preview of the film (currently in post-production), and participate in discussions with the filmmaker, Veteran-participants and local Veterans - on the topic of how Veterans and civilians can co-exist and find deeper understandings. Your feedback and reflections on the excerpt will help the producers shape the final film.

This screening is made possible by support from the National Museum of Military Vehicles, the Wyoming 250th Committee and the Wyoming Council for Women.

Join The Center for its annual presentation of The Manhattan Short Film Festival in The Center Theater!

MANHATTAN SHORT is a celebration of short films and was established in 1998 on the streets of New York City. Today, it has transformed into a worldwide phenomenon. MANHATTAN SHORT screens 9 compelling shorts in 500+ cinemas simultaneously during the week of September 24 to October 4, 2026. MANHATTAN SHORT doesn’t have judges award the short films. Instead, they allow the audience (i.e. You) to be the judge. The audience votes for their choice of Best Film and Best Actor. Then on the last day of the festival, the short films with the most votes are announced as the winners. Manhattan Short is for film lovers who want to experience unique and riveting stories from all around the world.

Acclaimed birding advocate and television host Christian Cooper will be in conversation with bestselling author Jennifer Ackerman for a wide-ranging discussion about the wonder, intelligence and importance of birds in our lives. This event is as much for the avid birder as the simply curious!

Four Shillings Short, the husband/wife duo of Aodh Og O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland and Christy Martin from California, bring together music, stories and folklore from the Celtic lands to celebrate the Ancient Celtic Bonfire festival of Samhain, known as Féile na Marbh (the Feast of the Dead). Samhain (pronounced 'sow-in' meaning 'the Summer's end') marks the end of harvest, beginning of Winter and the Celtic New Year. Traditionally celebrated at the end of October/beginning of November it is the origin of Halloween/All Hallows Eve, All Souls Day and Dia de los Muertos. It is believed that on Samhain or 'Ancestor night', the border between the world of the living and the dead is thinnest. Candles are lit at the graves of loved ones, offerings of food and drink left out for the Ancestors and bonfires lit throughout the countryside. Many of our modern day customs are based on Samhain including ghost stories, Halloween costumes, bobbing for apples, and the jack-o-lantern.

Stop by is Expedition Island Park & Pavilion in Green River to view Wyoming Public Media's Wyoming 250 Photo Contest Exhibit opening reception! The event features a presentation by Jessica Flock, educator and paddler, in the Expedition Island Pavilion.

Jessica will discuss the John Wesley Powell Expedition and its 150th anniversary event.

After the talk, guests can enjoy light refreshments and enjoy the Wyoming's History Through Listeners' Eyes photo exhibit. (View the virtual exhibit online). The exhibit will travel around Wyoming throughout 2026.

Free and open to the public, the talk starts at 6 pm at the Expedition Island Pavilion. Stop by for refreshments and free sonic bison ear buds! All are welcome.
