Join us in the Members’ Lounge for a conversation with visual artist Christina Seely, who will share stories of the remarkable wildlife and landscapes that have shaped her artistic practice. For 15 years, Seely has worked alongside scientists in the Arctic and tropics, creating immersive moving-image and sound installations that explore shifting relationships among wildlife, human activity, and the planet.

Seely will discuss the three video works and the daguerreotype photo series featured in "Impact and Entanglement." Following her remarks, join us for a Q&A and a special opportunity to view the exhibit alongside the artist.

This program takes place on the opening day of "Impact and Entanglement: Three Video Works by Christina Seely," on view in the Wapiti Gallery through January 3, 2027.

This event is free and open to the public.

A free family afternoon at the foot of Shell Canyon, out in the backyard at the Old Shell Store.

Hay rides through the Shell valley with the Shell Valley Volunteer Fire Department. A petting zoo with goats, sheep and friends. Free face painting by Benjiporn Helburn. Pumpkin bowling, axe throwing and backyard games.

Live music featuring Holland Dotson.

The kitchen is serving dinner, there's local beer on tap, and the bakery makes cakes and cookies just for the day.

All activities weather permitting.

Tap is rhythm, coordination, and fun - no prior experience necessary! This class is all about having fun. All levels welcome, beginners encouraged!

Long before Sheridan County became known for its ranches and thriving communities, coal mining fueled the region’s economy and gave rise to dozens of bustling coal camps. Drawing on his research and article, The Coal Camps of Sheridan County, SCLT Director of History Kevin Knapp explores the history of these forgotten communities, the miners and their families who called them home, and their lasting impact on northeastern Wyoming. SCLT Explore History is free and open to all.

SCLT Explore History is a collaboration of The Hub on Smith, Tongue River Valley Community Center, and Sheridan Community Land Trust.

The Laramie Urban Sketchers group meets every Saturday at a new location to draw our surroundings. Previous meet-ups have been Downtown Laramie, Laramie Parks, the Wyoming Women's History Museum, local cafes, etc.
We draw the architechture, people, objects, and events around us for two hours, then meet back up to admire everyone's work and talk about our sketching that day.
It's a welcoming group with members of all ages and skill levels. Our goal is to document Laramie with our sketchbooks, and build a friendly community of people who like to make art together!
