The Laramie Urban Sketchers group meets every Saturday at a new location to draw our surroundings. Previous meet-ups have been Downtown Laramie, Laramie Parks, the Wyoming Women's History Museum, local cafes, etc.
We draw the architechture, people, objects, and events around us for two hours, then meet back up to admire everyone's work and talk about our sketching that day.
It's a welcoming group with members of all ages and skill levels. Our goal is to document Laramie with our sketchbooks, and build a friendly community of people who like to make art together!

Thursdays in July & August. Top Jackson Hole yoga instructors conduct weekly summer classes outside on the south part of the Sculpture Trail (parking lot to your left as you come up the hill). Participants will feel inspired doing Sun Salutations and Downward Dogs as they look across the grand vista of the National Elk Refuge. Join us in connecting with two art forms—visual art inspired by artists over the centuries, and the art of yoga, ensuring healthy mind, body, and spirit. All levels welcome. Free.

The Accidental Hero is a multi-media one-man show about Lieutenant Colonel Matt Konop, a WWII American officer who miraculously liberates the Czech villages of his grandparents. It’s a true story written and performed by his grandson, Patrick Dewane.

Patrick’s grandfather refused to talk about his service in the war. When he died, his basement yielded a treasure trove of typewritten accounts, photos, and rare film footage.

Dewane brings this archival material to glowing life as an enthralling, humorous and heartwarming tale of miraculous escapes and astonishing coincidences. This touching show runs from belly laughs to tears. Dewane takes on a dozen different roles as he powerfully recounts his grandfather’s journey from Omaha Beach, the Battle of the Bulge, and the end of WWII. In the last week of the war, Konop’s story turns away from a soldier’s survival tale to something from mythology. He discovers his lost identity and is embraced by the tribe he never knew in an epic homecoming. As he freed the Czechs, he too, was liberated.

Stop by the Casper Interpretive Trails Center to view Wyoming Public Media's Wyoming 250 Photo Contest Exhibit. The opening reception on November 7th features a presentation by Dwain Romsa, Diretor of the Natrona County Historical Society.

Dwain will explore the history of trails through Wyoming during the American experience over the past 250 years.

After the talk, guests can enjoy light refreshments and enjoy the Wyoming's History Through Listeners' Eyes photo exhibit. (View the virtual exhibit online). The exhibit will travel around Wyoming throughout 2026.

Free and open to the public, the talk starts at 6 pm at the Casper Interpretive Trails Center. Stop by for refreshments and free sonic bison ear buds! All are welcome.

Emmy-winning Wyoming documentary filmmaker Sophie Barksdale presents a preview excerpt of her new film 'Crossing the Threshold' - a Veteran-centred documentary about serving your country and what happens when you come home. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a 20min preview of the film (currently in post-production), and participate in discussions with the filmmaker, Veteran-participants and local Veterans - on the topic of how Veterans and civilians can co-exist and find deeper understandings. Your feedback and reflections on the excerpt will help the producers shape the final film.

A live music presentation with exciting Wyoming and western Songs about cowboys, the Oregon Trail, the Transcontinental Railroad, Lewis and Clark, stories in traditional Native American Indian Sign Language, cowboy poetry and world-class yodeling.

​This Wyoming music legacy is accompanied by a multimedia presentation of historical paintings and photographs, taking the listener on an amazing journey of Wyoming history and our proud alluring culture of The Wild American West.

“Buffalo Bill” and Dr. Jo (“Flower of the Prairie”) are winners of a Western Music Association Harmony Duo Award. Bill is a WMA Male Yodeler Award Winner.

Bill and Jo perform on the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar with superb harmony vocals. This exciting concert length presentation truly tells a story about Wyoming and our proud western heritage.
