The 2026 Laramie County Fair is back July 29 through August 8, bringing together the best of summer, community, tradition, and family fun at the Archer Complex in Cheyenne. This year’s theme, “Fair’s Poppin’,” sets the stage for a full fair schedule packed with livestock shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, open class competitions, hands-on activities, fair contests, food, entertainment, and plenty of hometown memories in the making.

The fair kicks off July 29 with horse, dog, rabbit, beef, and static exhibits, then rolls into a lively week of public activities beginning August 1. Families can enjoy the Midway from August 1–7 with carnival games, an inflatable zone, glass blowing demos, balloon twisting, airbrush tattoos, magic shows, caricatures, a petting zoo, foam parties, mini-golf, a laser maze, and more.

Special highlights include the Farmers Market on August 1, Ranch Rodeo and the new Salsa Showdown on August 2, pie contests on August 3, Mutton Bustin’ on August 4, the new Cheyenne Youth Rodeo and Bubblegum Blowing Contest on August 5, Pig Wrestling on August 6, round robin shows and family activities on August 7, and the Youth Livestock Sale on August 8.

An American Celebration: Ring in the 250th birthday of our nation with music of all styles by American composers. Fun for the whole family, this program for string quartet and percussion will get the audience singing, dancing, and drumming along. Join us for the fourth year of our partnership with the Teton Village Association’s Alive@5 series! Before and after, enjoy the Jackson Farmer’s Market in Teton Village!

On the Road brings live classical music to audiences in Teton County and surrounding communities through free concerts performed by Festival Orchestra musicians and hosted with our community partners. Stoner Family Education Curator Meaghan Heinrich leads programs that are accessible to all ages and bring music to life with explanations and demonstrations.

Contrasting string quartets by Kevin Lau and Beethoven highlight the emotional range of every Grand Teton Music Festival chamber music setting. Festival Orchestra brass players share the stage with their string section colleagues in a concert that features an intoxicating mix of the familiar and the new.

Join us for Mountain Man Days, a celebration of Wyoming’s rich mountain heritage, frontier traditions, and the enduring spirit of those who explored, worked, and lived among the mountains. This special event offers a unique opportunity to experience history through hands-on workshops, demonstrations, family-friendly activities, and stories that bring the past to life.
We are proud to host a special tribute honoring the life and legacy of Wyoming mountain man Jim Baker. Join us as we celebrate his contributions, adventures, and the lasting impact he made on Wyoming’s rich mountain man heritage.

Special Workshops (Registration Required)
Begin the weekend by learning traditional skills through a variety of hands-on workshops. Participants can step back in time and experience the crafts and techniques that were essential to early mountain life, including pickle making, mule packing, wool crafting, sourdough bread making, sauerkraut making, and blacksmithing.

Spend the day exploring family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and historical experiences for all ages. Discover the skills, tools, and traditions of the mountain men through engaging presentations, interactive displays, and opportunities to connect with history in a fun and memorable way. Food trucks will be available throughout the day, offering a variety of food options available for purchase.

Pancake Breakfast & Guided Trek (Free to the Public)
Wrap up the weekend with a delicious pancake breakfast followed by a guided trek through the landscape that reflects the rugged beauty and adventure of Wyoming’s mountain heritage.
Come celebrate the traditions, stories, and skills of the past with friends, family, and fellow history enthusiasts. Mountain Man Days is a weekend of discovery, connection, and appreciation for the people who helped shape Wyoming’s history.

Please join us for the annual Laramie County Fair Youth Livestock Sale!
We will sell animals individually including beef, lambs, goats, hogs, rabbits, and poultry. Sale begins with all Champions and Reserve Champions selling first.
A complimentary buyer’s lunch will be served at noon.

Investing in Laramie County's Future:
The Laramie County Fair Livestock Program provides youth with valuable hands-on opportunities to develop responsibility, leadership, sportsmanship, and essential life skills. Through the process of raising and exhibiting livestock, participants invest significant time, effort, and resources while gaining practical knowledge in animal nutrition, health management, husbandry practices, and proper animal handling. These experiences help prepare young people for future success both within and beyond the agricultural industry.

All youth with market animals complete the University of Wyoming’s Youth Quality Assurance program, ensuring they follow proper animal care and management practices to produce a high-quality, wholesome product.

Ways to Participate:
• Attend in person
• Have purchases made on your behalf (Must contact the Fair Office before the sale)
• A Buyer’s Group
• An Add-on donation

Purchase Options:
• Live Animal: Purchase the animal as-is. Removal of the animal is the responsibility of the buyer.
• Custom Slaughter: You will choose one of the pre-arranged processors. Contact processor for cut sheets. Processing fees are the Buyer’s responsibility.
• Resale: You may resale an animal to the sale. Buyer will pay the difference between the bid and resale price.
• Donation: Please make sure to have the charity’s correct name and address. Buyer is responsible for processing fees.

Sun Ranch Day is a free event open to the public. Saturday August 8th, from 10am to 3pm at the Tom Sun Ranch, a national historic landmark. There is a visitor center, museum and other historic buildings that can be toured, including a blacksmith shop and trading post. Located 15 miles north of Muddy Gap on State Hwy 220 at Martin’s Cove Visitors’ Center.

Bring your lunch to eat on the picnic tables and grass lawns at the ranch and enjoy free fun activities and snacks. All ages welcome.
