The Rialto Theater will host “Comedy for Captain Dixon,” a fundraiser featuring nationally touring comedian Rachel Feinstein, on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The event raises money for Captain Brian Dixon of the Casper Fire Department, who is fighting cancer.

The night includes two performances. The early show has doors at 5:30 p.m. and starts at 6:30 p.m. The late show has doors at
8:15 p.m. and starts at 9:00 p.m.

Rachel Feinstein is one of the country’s best-known stand-up comedians. She has appeared on Netflix, HBO, Comedy Central, The
Tonight Show, and Last Comic Standing.

The event raises money in several ways. Net proceeds from ticket sales, a share of bar sales, and additional fundraising activities
throughout the night will all go directly to Captain Dixon and his family. The event is supported by Casper Firefighters IAFF Local
904, whose members and local volunteers are donating their time to greet guests, host the room, and help run the fundraising
activities.

The 2026 Laramie County Fair is back July 29 through August 8, bringing together the best of summer, community, tradition, and family fun at the Archer Complex in Cheyenne. This year’s theme, “Fair’s Poppin’,” sets the stage for a full fair schedule packed with livestock shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, open class competitions, hands-on activities, fair contests, food, entertainment, and plenty of hometown memories in the making.

The fair kicks off July 29 with horse, dog, rabbit, beef, and static exhibits, then rolls into a lively week of public activities beginning August 1. Families can enjoy the Midway from August 1–7 with carnival games, an inflatable zone, glass blowing demos, balloon twisting, airbrush tattoos, magic shows, caricatures, a petting zoo, foam parties, mini-golf, a laser maze, and more.

Special highlights include the Farmers Market on August 1, Ranch Rodeo and the new Salsa Showdown on August 2, pie contests on August 3, Mutton Bustin’ on August 4, the new Cheyenne Youth Rodeo and Bubblegum Blowing Contest on August 5, Pig Wrestling on August 6, round robin shows and family activities on August 7, and the Youth Livestock Sale on August 8.

Emmy-winning Wyoming documentary filmmaker Sophie Barksdale presents a preview excerpt of her new film 'Crossing the Threshold' - a Veteran-centred documentary about serving your country and what happens when you come home. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a 20min preview of the film (currently in post-production), and participate in discussions with the filmmaker, Veteran-participants and local Veterans - on the topic of how Veterans and civilians can co-exist and find deeper understandings. Your feedback and reflections on the excerpt will help the producers shape the final film.
