Join us for the last in this series of sound hikes on the Ucross Ranch.
"Confluences" is an emplaced sound experience created by Ucross artist-alumni Teri Rueb and Laurids Sonne. It is available via a free downloadable app (iOS and Android) that visitors can run on their mobile phones while walking the land. Interactive areas of sound play as visitors wander, revealing a sonic landscape of sounds recorded over three years that include voices of the Ucross community, former artists-in-residence, local residents of Clear Creek Valley, and field recordings taken in different seasons.
During the hike, Ucross staff will walk with visitors on a private trail on the ranch as interactive areas of sound play. The hikes will be less than two hours; we will meet at the Ucross Art Gallery at 9 a.m. for an introduction and orientation before caravanning to the trail (about two minutes drive).
