As Laramie’s PrideFest celebrations built to a crescendo, the community gathered downtown for a drag show at the Collective. The performers leaned into the theme of the night — all things floral and blossoming — but they each brought a unique vision to that theme and to drag itself, demonstrating queer joy even as new legislation targets LGBTQ+ rights.

Wind River Pride is hosting a series of events in Lander and Riverton this month to celebrate Pride. Their most recent meetup was a Queers with Quills creative writing night.

The annual fest launches Friday and will feature a diverse array of events across town throughout the weekend and next week. Some of those events, like the Matthew Shepard Candlelight Vigil, are somber, while others, like Thursday night Karaoke at the Great Untamed, are celebratory.

The University of Wyoming Multicultural Affairs Center is working together with Wyoming Equality to provide gender affirming workshops. The series will provide information on things like voice training, changing your name, and make-up application to provide essential care to those with changing gender identities. The idea is to provide gender affirming care for students who might not have access to materials.
