The Wyoming Department of Transportation has released a new smartphone app to provide users with travel information and road conditions. Users of the app can plan their trip according to road conditions through WYDOT's map feature. The app, called 'Wyoming 511,' can read aloud updates about conditions via text message.

Project manager Ali Regan says the app was downloaded nearly 10,000 times in its first week. "We really had no idea what to expect, so we knew it wold be popular, but we weren't sure how popular it would be. So we're really pleased with the number of downloads so far," Regan says.

The app is available for free download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. It can be found by searching for Wyoming 511.
