The Wyoming Legislature is planning a hybrid session in March that will be both remote and in-person after the governor and lawmakers agreed to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to interested legislators and other key players.
In a press release, Gov. Mark Gordon said that legislators, legislative staff, custodians and some credentialed journalists will have access to the vaccine, including the legislative reporter from Wyoming Public Media. Roughly 100 vaccines are expected to be administered. Executive Branch Staff will attend the session remotely.
Senate President Dan Dockstader said, since lawmakers will have important debates on the state budget and other issues, they will require some limited in-person discussions. But when they attend in-person, legislators will be required to wear masks in all legislative spaces, unless seated at their desks.
Social distancing will be required in all committee rooms, galleries and hallways. Other visitors to the capitol building will be required to abide by COVID-19 protocols. Lawmakers plan to allow members of the public to attend and testify remotely.
