Former UW Grad Student Has Received Rave Reviews On His First Novel 'TreeBorne'

The book Treeborne is about a woman name Janie Treeborne who lives in Elberta, Alabama. She's being interviewed after learning that she may need to abandon her community after an old dam is about to break. The book takes us back through flashbacks from her life and family that goes back many years and involves an odd cast of characters. 

The book was mostly written in Laramie by former University of Wyoming Master of Fine Arts student Caleb Johnson who grew up in small town Alabama. The book has been getting rave reviews. Johnson explains to Wyoming Public Radio's Bob Beck how he stumbled on a story like this.

Bob Beck retired from Wyoming Public Media after serving as News Director of Wyoming Public Radio for 34 years. During his time as News Director WPR has won over 100 national, regional and state news awards.
