Portion of Pilot Hill Parcel Opens To The Public

Pilot Hill Project

A small portion of the Pilot Hill parcel is now open to the public. The parcel, located on the eastern edge of Laramie, is part of a collaborative effort to protect nearly 4,344 acres for nonmotorized recreation and wildlife habitat.

The Pilot Hill Project is encouraging visitors to stick to a two-track known as Trail Four and the existing Schoolyard Trails as they build more trails and complete fencing projects.

Trail Four was used during last year's community day and connects the town from the eastern side of the Schoolyard Section to U.S. Forest Service Road 703 at the top of the Pilot Hill area. There is currently no access to the Wildlife Habitat Area.

Visitors are encouraged to visit the Pilot Hill websiteto find out what areas are open for use. A grand opening of the property is planned for next summer.
