May 11 Saturday
May 11 will start with two free local field trips (need not be registered for the dinner). The first will be to look for grassland birds in eastern Laramie County. Participants will leave at 8 a.m. from the Pilot parking lot, 8020 Campstool Road. The second begins at noon at the Wyoming Hereford Ranch’s office, 1114 Hereford Ranch Road. Cheyenne Audubon invites everyone to help celebrate their 50th anniversary on May 11 with dinner at Laramie County Community College at 5 p.m. Dinner tickets, $38 (including all fees), and menu descriptions are available at https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/cheyenne50th/cheyenne-high-plains-audubon-society-50th-anniversary-dinner.
“From the Grass Up” is the title of the talk to be given by guest speaker Chris Madson, award-winning retired editor of “Wyoming Wildlife” magazine. Door prizes include a guided birding trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and a pair of binoculars, model C.1, built and donated by Lander Wyoming’s Maven Outdoor Equipment Company. Everyone attending will get two door prize tickets.
