Wyoming's Unemployment Rates Remain Unchanged In March. But For How Long?

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services state's unemployment numbers have remained unchanged at 3.7 percent between February and March of this year. However, those numbers are expected to rise.

"This report is for the week of March 8 through the 14, and if you look at the initial unemployment claims, which come in every week, the very next week there was a large increase and it's continued to grow since then," said David Bullard, a senior economist with the department.

"Wyoming was a little bit late, you know, later than some places in seeing the effects of the coronavirus on the economy," he added.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has scheduled April's unemployment news release for May 26, 2020.
