Cheyenne Mayor Accuses Governor Of Intimidating Behavior

Marian Orr For Mayor

Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr said a disagreement between her and the Governor led to a confrontation. The disagreement was over a possible visit by a delegation from Taiwan.

Governor Gordon wanted to hold off on the visit and Mayor Orr suggested that the city might host it without state help. That's when she says the governor erupted and leaned into her and said "F-U Mayor."

Orr said they continued the meeting, but after stewing on it all weekend she decided to go public.

"We can't be silent to bad behavior from men treating women that way. It's unacceptable."

Gordon denies that he stood up, but admits he swore at her. The governor has apologized and the two have agreed to work together in the future.
