After years of going without one, the University of Wyoming has hired a new Native American Program Advisor. President Laurie Nichols has said the goal is to try to increase the Native student enrollment so that it better reflects the Native population in the state.
Right now, it’s at an all-time low with less than 90 Native American students at UW. Many tribal students say that’s because the campus isn’t as welcoming as it could be or have the services they need. But that may turn around now that Reinette Tendore is stationed—door open wide—at the Native American Center on campus.
