State officials say they are working hard to get a handful of businesses ready to open as early Friday. Gyms, barbershops, hair salons and day cares are among those who can open as long as staff are screened, wearing masks and the numbers of people in their facilities are limited.
Wyoming Business Council CEO Josh Dorrell said they are urging businesses to be extra cautious and take safety recommendations seriously.
"Taking a careful, data driven and meter driven approach is important to public health, but it is also very important to our businesses," said Dorrell. "Because many of them have told us that a cycle of startup and shutdown could be more devastating to them than the shutdown itself."
He added that some facilities, such as gyms, may need to prove that they are safe to their members. Dorrell suggests they go through the guidelines one by one and communicate their safety responses.
