Wyoming Public Radio & Media Wins Four National PRNDI Awards

Wyoming Public Radio and Media won four national awards at the annual Public Radio News Directors conference in Washington D.C. over the weekend. Reporter Cooper McKim won first place for Best Use of Sound in Division B for his story on how scientists are following the fate of a stonefly species that can only be found in mountain streams. 

McKim also won a 2nd place in the Best Arts Feature category for his story on the music piece Considering Matthew Shepard. Open Spaces won first place for Best News and Public Affairs for a special program called Time Heals Wounds after Mosque Incident. Produced by Melodie Edwards, it was a civil discourse between a Muslim community member and a man who started a Facebook page called Stop Islam in Gillette.

Wyoming Public Media's HumaNature podcast won 2nd place for the story called Carbon and Dust about a miracle relationship that ended when one of them died.
