Known for its famous 75-cent ice cream cones and quirky emperor penguin, the property is blending generational nostalgia with fresh upgrades. The reimagined Travel Center keeps beloved favorites while introducing upgraded amenities and offers like a dirty soda station, wood-fired pizza, a baked potato bar, sleek self-serve kiosks, and more.

Mike Block Trio, featuring Joe K. Walsh (mandolin/vocals) & Zachariah Hickman (bass/vocals), is led by cellist/singer/composer Mike Block, a member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble. The trio fertilizes American roots music with contemporary and international influences, bringing an exciting and personal perspective to the acoustic music scene.

Cheyenne Audubon program May 20, 6:30 p.m.: Chris Madson, “From the Grass Up” Cheyenne Audubon invites the public for a free program, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room at the Laramie County Library, 2200 Pioneer Ave., featuring guest speaker Chris Madson. Chris, the retired, long-time, award-winning editor of Wyoming Wildlife magazine, will re-give his May 2024 Cheyenne-High Plains Audubon banquet talk, “From the Grass Up" that leads us through the fascinating history of the Audubon movement and highlights the Wyoming conservationists, such as Frank Bond, who were important in the early Audubon Society. Chris's talk will be professionally recorded and archived for public access at the Wyoming Heritage Center. Bring on spring with Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids as we stroll pastures along Big Goose Creek, watching and listening for birds as they migrate north to their summer nesting grounds. Learn some beginning birding skills, and build your confidence to tell warblers from finches from chickadees. Springtime is a great time to watch birds, with few leaves on the trees and birds all dressed up in their stunning breeding plumage.
Dress for weather; bring binoculars if you have them. We will have some, too.
