Community Holidays of Laramie

Community Holidays of Laramie
Every year throughout Laramie there are individuals and families struggling to make ends meet but are still hopeful that they will have a Christmas morning. Together we can keep the flicker of hope alive while meeting some basic needs such as warm clothing, winter boots, blankets, and other basics while making sure that the toddlers have a doll or a truck.
Community Holidays is a volunteer effort of churches, government workers, neighbors, civic organizations, university students, and businesses working together. We coordinate our efforts with Toys for Tots, Christmas for Kids (the schools), and others to serve the families who do not have children attending Laramie public schools, the elderly, and those facing major illnesses. Once again, the Vedauwoo Volunteer Fire Department will provide Christmas Trees to these families. Additionally, food gift cards are provided to help provide a holiday dinner. Most applications come through the various non-profit agencies in Laramie.
Sponsors are critical to this program and all are invited to take part in sharing with us the joy of giving. To sponsor an individual or a family, the sponsorship form is on the program’s website at communityholidays.org. If you are unable to sponsor, a cash donation of any amount is much appreciated. All unwrapped gifts are due at the First Baptist Church (1517 Canby Street) by December 11th.
