Tourism numbers are helping the state out at a crucial time.
That's according to Gov. Mark Gordon, who in a press conference on Tuesday, June 16, said, business owners across the state are reporting higher sales tax from tourism than what was expected under the ongoing pandemic.
Additionally, Gordon said eight of Wyoming's state parks saw more than twice as many visitors in April and May of this year, than they did in those same months for 2019.
"Wyoming is the place to come," he said. "Our visitors are spending money. They're doing business in our shops. And it's essential that we continue to have a safe place for them to come."
However, Gordon said hotel owners are reporting low occupancy rates.
