Foundations of Nations is a Christian group that provides resources to underserved community members on and around the Wind River Indian Reservation.

Tuesday, March 24, at 4 p.m. the group will host a mass food distribution and will provide dozens of families with support.

Sarah Lucas said she created the Foundations for Nations in order to help Indigneous communities as well as others in need in the area.

"So, we started the food pantry over two years ago. And a year ago we added to the food pantry and opened up a clothing closet," said Lucas. "Free clothing to the community during food pantry hours. They are allowed to shop through the clothing and the shoes and get what they need."

The group has held events this past year that provided a full tank of gas to hundreds of people as well as buying out full laundromats for anyone who shows up to do their laundry.

Lucas said that the Foundation of Nations also provides house care to those in need.

"On the Reservation and in Riverton, we see some of the houses need maintenance that need to be done that maybe they can't afford and they own the home," said Lucas. "So we will come in and do roofs. We've done wood burning fireplaces. About a month ago we helped people get water established to their home."

Foundation of Nations is also breaking ground on a new youth center and church area in Arapahoe to help with their youth program that had 90 participants last summer.

The food distribution will be located at 620 E. Monroe Aveune in Riverton.
