The second annual Northwest Guitar Summit takes place this weekend in Powell. The event includes a public concert and workshops for guitar players in the community. This year, the summit is open to any guitar player of junior high age or above. Organizer Jeff Troxel will be joined by jazz guitarist Corey Christiansen and classical guitarist Michael Videon.

Washington state based fiddler Randal Bays is considered one America’s best players of Irish traditional music. He came to prominence in the 1990s, playing with celebrated Irish fiddler Martin Hayes. Since then, Bays has cemented his own reputation as a master of the style. He will be teaching and performing at the Lincoln Community Center in Laramie on Sunday, November 8: a workshop on Irish traditional music (open to all acoustic instruments) takes place at 3 p.m., followed by a public concert at 7 p.m.

Antonio Sacre is an American bilingual storyteller, author and performance artist. Born in Boston to an Irish American mother and Cuban father, Sacre uses his diverse background to tell stories in English and Spanish. He wants to teach others the value of their own stories.
