The Array Foundation is a nonprofit that promotes computer science and engineering in Wyoming, and it's announced a new chapter of Girls Who Code in Cheyenne.
Girls Who Code is trying to close the gender gap in technology by supporting junior high and high school-aged girls who want to develop computer science skills.
Ana Monzon, a software developer at Systems Analyst, will lead the chapter.
"Girls Who Code clubs are meant for girls to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models, and use computer science to change the world," she said in a press release. "The Girls Who Code clubs encourage middle and high school girls to impact their communities in a positive way through code."
The club is free and will meet virtually throughout March and April. Computers will be provided if needed. Interested students should apply by February 15 at The Array Foundation website.
