A lucky young Wyomingite can win a Wyoming wildlife conservation license plate, thanks to a new state contest. A group of nonprofits have joined forces to get Wyomites to explain why wildlife conservation is important in the state.
Jenny DeSarro with the Greater Yellowstone Coalition said they are targeting younger folks between the ages of 17 and 20.
"[We want to] encourage people to come up with either a one page, visual or written, or an audio presentation of why conservation is important, particularly wildlife conservation, or something about the individual's conservation ethics," said DeSarro.
The winner will receive a Wyoming conservation license plate presented by Gov. Mark Gordon. DeSarro said she hopes the competition will highlight Wyoming conservation ethics as it is perceived by the younger generation. Submissions will be accepted through February 21.
