Colleen Faber Selected As New Campbell County Commissioner

Campbell County

Campbell County Commissioners have unanimously selected a replacement for a vacant commission seat.

The four commissioners voted to appoint Colleen Faber to the commission, after three names were put forth by the Campbell County Republican Party.

Faber has experience working in oil, natural gas and agriculture and recently retired from Anadarko Petroleum.

Faber said she hopes to quickly pick up the job and be ready for the upcoming legislative session and county budgeting.

"I have the time to dedicate to becoming informed in a quick manner...and I would spend the extra time and hard work to become all the more informed and effective," she said.

In her letter of interest for the position, Faber said her priorities for the job include community services like emergency management services and a responsible county budget.

Commission Chairman DG Reardon said Faber stood out from the other candidates.

"Based on the short runway to get up to speed, the willingness to work with others, the understanding of many of the issues facing the county and the ability to articulate the county's position and needs, I would also support Colleen Faber," he said.

The other two candidates for the position were Troy McKeown and Jeff Raney.

Faber will finish the term of former commissioner Mark Christensen, who resigned in January. The term will expire in January 2021.
