Cowboy Overtures - Casper
Whoopee-Ti-Yi-Yo, Git Along Little Dogies. Come join us for the “Cowboy Overtures” concert by Trinkle Brass Works and Portable Masterpieces. Attendees will be treated to a unique take on longtime favorites and non-traditional fare. Featuring the sights, sounds and style of Cowboy life and Western culture on the plains of Wyoming, the program will include music by Robert Ward, Jerome Moross, Virgil Thomson, Morton Gould and John Barry. Steven Trinkle, conductor and artistic director, has announced that the concert will take place in Wheeler Concert Hall on the Casper College campus, Saturday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Guest artist Cory McDaniel, a local Casper native, will be featured in the Hills of Old Wyoming, and The Plow That Broke the Plains. An inveterate storyteller, Cory has had a lifetime of music on the road and at home, He is known in Wyoming for his performances with the Tremors.
Admission to the Cowboy Overture concert is open to the public without charge - tickets are not needed. The concert is sponsored through grants from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Wyoming Arts Council and Casper College.
