Celebrate Wyoming Day and 156 Years of Women’s Suffrage - Cheyenne
Celebrate Wyoming Day on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Capitol as we commemorate the 156th anniversary of the Women's Suffrage Act. Part of the state's preparations for America's 250th anniversary, the event will honor Wyoming's pioneering role in recognizing women's right to vote and hold public office.
Presentations will take place in the Historic Supreme Court, the room where, 20 years after the territorial legislature passed the act and Governor John Campbell signed it into law, Wyoming's constitutional convention was held and suffrage was enshrined into the state's Constitution. Commemorate the milestone, reflect on the legacy that shaped the Equality State, and celebrate the people who made it possible.
- 1:00-2:00 p.m. | "An Afternoon with Esther," presentation by the League of Women Voters of Cheyenne
- 2:00-2:30 p.m. | Light reception
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. | "Tea Party Controversy: Investigating the Origins of Wyoming's Woman Suffrage," program by Kylie McCormick
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to join in celebrating Wyoming's suffrage story!
