Cody Airport's Strong Numbers Prompt Questions About Longer Delta Service

There is a possibility Cody will eventually have both Sky West Delta and United Airlines for more than just the summer months. That's because of recent increased plane activity at the Yellowstone Regional Airport.

Cody Mayor Matt Hall said the private plane numbers in October increased by 33 percent from last year, while the commercial numbers have remained steady. Those usually drop off around September.

"With this new economic activity that we [are] having in the area that it’s very likely that they we could see some real support for having a continued air service through that Delta Connection from May to the end of the year," said Hall.

That new economic activity is the presence of hip hop artist Kanye West’s fashion collaboration with Adidas, Yeezy. West recently announced he will move the Yeezy headquarters to Cody. The company has already leased a warehouse in Cody that will be used as a sample prototype lab.
