Wyoming Candidate Forums

Still need to get familiar with federal and statewide candidates on your ballot this election cycle? Tune in to candidate forums for the primary election for the U.S. Senate and House seats. As well as for governor, superintendent of public instruction, secretary of state and treasurer. Sponsored by Wyoming Public Media, WyoFile and the League of Women Voters.

Wyoming Candidate Forum Information

July 8: U.S. Senate Candidate Forum, Casper College, Durham Hall: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Democratic Candidate Forum followed by Republican Candidate Forum

  • Candidates:
    • Democrat: James Byrd and Billy Benavidez
    • Republican: Harriet Hageman, John Holtz, Sam Mead, Jimmy Skovgard
    • Not in attendance: Republican Jill Edwards

July 15: Secretary of State Candidate Forum and Treasurer Candidate Forum, Albany County Public Library, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

  • Candidates for secretary of state:
    • Republican: Robert Short, Qwenton Eagle Oviatt, CJ Young
    • Not in attendance: Republican Rachel Williams
    • Democrat Bryan McCarty is running unopposed in the primary
  • Candidates for state treasurer:
    • Republican: Curt Meier
    • Not in attendance: Republican Scott Smith

July 16: Superintendent of Public Instruction Candidate Forum, Albany County Public Library, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

  • Candidates:
    • Republican: Chad Auer, Steve Harshman, Tom Kelly
    • Not in attendance: Democrats Ana Cordova and Sergio Maldonado

A note: Due to construction, parking is not available at Aley Hall where the forum is set to take place. Please plan to park in the lot along Lisco Drive, a short walk away. The Natrona County Library put together a map and directions.

July 22: Governor Candidate Forum, Casper College, Aley Hall's Durham Auditorium: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

  • Candidates:
    • Republicans Eric Barlow, Megan Degenfelder
    • Not in attendance: Republicans Brent Bien, Curt Blake
    • Democrat Kenneth Casner is running unopposed in the primary

July 23: U.S. Congress Candidate Forum, Casper College, Aley Hall's Durham Auditorium: 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

  • Candidates:
    • Republicans Jillian Balow, Bo Biteman, Kevin Christensen, Richard Dodson, Steve Friess, David Giralt, Chuck Gray, Reid Rasner
    • Not in attendance: Republican Keith Goodenough
    • Democrats Elena Del Real, Lisa Kinney
    • Republican Frank Chapman announced he was dropping out of the race on July 23, according to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
