The Gillette College Foundation will spend the next year coming up with a plan to expand entrepreneurship in the Powder River Basin.The region is the top producer of coal in the country, but demand is waning. They’ll have guidance from a national group, Just Transition Fund, which works with communities trying to get ahead of it all.

The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office indicate there was a 25 percent increase in revenue from business filings compared to last. According to The Digital Project Manager’s findings, there are 12,357 small businesses/100,000 people and nearly a 120 percent increase in business applications from 2019 to 2022.

The University of Wyoming offers an opportunity for entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into realitiesUW's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (WyCEI) in conjunction with the Honors College is offering a three-week course beginning in May that gives students at UW or any of the state’s eight community colleges a chance to turn those ideas into realities. It includes opportunities for students in an array of academic disciplines, including entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, activists, and businesspeople.
