The Donkey Creek Festival was an annual two-day free event held each June at Gillette College that featured musicians performing different genres of music, numerous vendors, activities for kids, and a beer garden. Despite the lack of funding and board members, there's a chance it could be revived if new funding sources and volunteers help out.

A full executive team has been hired and a budget is set to be approved next week. Additional hires are set to be made this fall to aid in the accreditation process. If the budget allows, athletics and extracurricular activities may also make a comeback by as early as 2023.

On Aug. 17, Campbell County overwhelmingly voted to make Gillette College independent of the Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD), its parent institution that it had been part of since its inception in 1969. Just over two months later, plans are underway by Sheridan College to help aid in this objective by offering guidance and assistance along the way.
