The Wyoming Arts Council is funding an art fellowship for Native artists in the state. The fellowship welcomes all mediums including performance, visual, and literary arts.

The fellowship was inspired by the lack of support for Native artists in the state, said Taylor Craig, the creative arts specialist with the Wyoming Arts Council.

Craig said she's excited to help the recipient showcase their work in the state.

"We are looking for diverse creative disciplines and mediums. It's really open. And also people working across mediums too," she said.

Craig encourages anyone over 18 to submit their art portfolio and the recipient isn't required to produce a new piece.

"The $3,000 award is based on their portfolio of artistic work," Craig said.

The application is open until June 10 to enrolled tribal members and descendants of any federally recognized tribe.
