Wyoming Pathways is partnering with Hot City Outdoor Alliance and the Bureau of Land Management to create a plan for a new trail system in Thermopolis.
Wyoming Pathways has already helped develop trails in places like Laramie and Lander.
Wyoming Pathways Director Tim Young said the plan is to create new trails and use existing roads.
"A big part of it is going to be looking at natural surface trails that you might go on a mountain bike ride or might go on a hike or a run," said Young. "And we're also going to look at lower volume roads to see if there is a good bicycle network that could be identified."
Young said that developing trails in towns like Thermopolis can improve the experiences of visitors and residents. The public will be able to share their thoughts on the plan at an open house and through the Wyoming Pathways website. The trail plan will be finalized this fall.
