With the possible demise of Wyoming’s pilot health program called Healthy Frontiers, a client of the program worries about how she'll pay for health care.
The program gives participants a health savings account, free doctor’s visits and other benefits. But lawmakers decided to cut funding for the program this year and Healthy Frontiers could end by June 30.
Powell resident Justine Larsen has been on the program since October. Her job doesn’t provide insurance and she can’t afford it on her own.
“I’m sure you have listeners who say, ‘well just go get a job with benefits,’” Larsen said. “If you think I haven’t been looking…that’s a constant.”
State officials are trying to find a way to help Larsen and 104 others remain on a version of the program. State Senator Charles Scott says the program cut was shortsighted.
