The railroad is an integral part of American life and culture and since its completion in 1869, the trans-continental railroad is regarded as one of the greatest technological achievements ever undertaken by the United States.

The exhibits in this area are a small representation of the many viewpoints relating to railroads in America, and the long and amazing connections people have formed with this unique and fascinating mode of transportation.

Galleries and Loggia displays on the second floor are open from 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays.
