SCLT Discovery Session: Worming Your Way Into Composting - Sheridan

SCLT Discovery Session: Worming Your Way Into Composting - Sheridan

Have you ever wished for a better way to make compost? Perhaps you’ve heard about the wonders of red wiggler worms, and now you’re worm curious.

Join us for a Discovery Session all about vermicomposting (composting with worms) led by Rooted in Wyoming’s Ian Cannon-Wallace and SCLT’s Jordan Carroll.

Red wigglers are a species of worm people love to work with, as they are relatively easy to work with, and excel at making high quality compost. You’ll learn all the nitty gritty details about vermiculture (raising worms), including the care and feeding of these cute little creatures, as well as the benefits of the biologically rich compost they produce. People of all ages are invited to get hands-on with these remarkable animals, capable of turning vegetable scraps into rich garden fertilizer.

Attendees are welcome to come learn about, touch, and celebrate the composting worms.

There is also the option of bringing home your very own starter worm colony. If you are interested in adopting a worm colony, please bring $10 cash or check (made out to Rooted in Wyoming) to the Discovery Session.

Please indicate when signing up if you’re ready to adopt a small batch of worms!

When: Saturday, March 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Where: SCLT Community Rooms (14 Lane Ln).
