Meeteetse Museums Accepting Applications for its Teaching Advisory Committee
The Meeteetse Museums is creating a committee of educators K-12 in Wyoming to advise the development of programming and resources for schools in a variety of subjects including science, history, art, and literature. Teachers are invited to apply to the Committee by emailing programs@meeteetsemuseums.org their resume, statement of interest, and availability by May 31st.
By developing an Teaching Advisory Committee, we hope to create materials to support teachers’ efforts. Committee members will give feedback and advice on resources which will be most helpful and accessible for both teachers and students in the state. We seek to open a conversation to develop mutually beneficial and effective relationships between the Meeteetse Museums and schools.
We understand teachers have limited time to dedicate to a project like this. Meetings will be scheduled at times most convenient to the committee and kept to roughly an hour. Once we have developed lists of the primary concerns/barriers preventing teachers from utilizing Museums’ resources and what resources from the Museum will be most beneficial, the role of the committee will be primarily to read and advise on lesson plans, new exhibits, and other Museum-provided resources and their delivery to teachers.
