UNDERWRITING COPY GUIDLINES
- Length: Wyoming Public Media underwriting announcements are all :15 seconds in length, including the standard opening line, “Supporters include.”
What to include:
- Name of the organization paying for the schedule
- Description of products or services offered including brands or trade names
- Date and time of event
- Length of time in business (optional)
- Established slogan or tagline (optional)
- Website or URL for additional information. (Telephone numbers are not easily remembered or effective.)

What Not To Include:
- Comparative, qualitative, or overtly promotional language
- Price or value information
- Inducement to buy, sell, rent, lease, borrow, or loan
- Third-party endorsements
- Calls to action
- First- or second-person language that implies station endorsement (you, we, us, I).
- Comparative, qualitative, or overtly promotional language
Additional Underwriting Policies
- The station does not accept corporate sponsorships which promote the use of illicit drugs.
- The station does not accept political advertising.
- All announcements are produced in-house by Wyoming Public Media staff.
