Around Wyoming, Friday, May 30

WyoPreps reports Star Valley's Jase Burton broke the overall record in the 3200 meters with a time 9:16.08. Lyla Marney of Big Horn set the 2A record in the same distance, clocking in at 11:22.75.

According to the Casper Star-Tribune, the Sheridan boys set the new 4X400 relay state record in 3 minutes, 18.63 seconds. The Natrona County girls' 4x100 relay team raced their way to a record time of 47.81 seconds. Runner-up Thunder Basin crossed the finish line in 48.4 seconds, which would have won every state meet since 2007. The Big Horn boys' 4x100 relay team broke its own Class 2A record from last year with a time of 42.75 seconds. Laramie's Flynn Arnold set a new standard in the 400-meter prelims when he won his heat with a time of 47.47 seconds. Kemmerer's Cole Rogers tore up the track in both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles prelims, which he ran in 14.52 and 37.48 seconds, respectively.
