The Trump administration has tapped a member of Congresswoman Harriet Hageman’s (R-WY) staff to direct the state’s USDA Rural Development office.
Thomas "Tyler" Harrison was a field representative and veterans’ liaison for Hageman for two years, according to his LinkedIn. Prior to that, he was an operations manager in the food and beverage services industry. He also served for over 25 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as an intelligence officer and project manager.
USDA Rural Development offers financial resources and support for rural communities, residents and businesses through loans and grants.
“I look forward to partnering with local leaders and organizations to invest in projects that strengthen our rural infrastructure, expand access to affordable housing, support small businesses and ensure rural Wyoming continues to thrive," Harrison said in a press release.
Harrison replaces Acting State Director Janice Blare, who’s spent 30 years with Rural Development.
