LCCC to launch 18-month associate degree program

Starting this fall, Laramie County Community College will begin offering a fast-track degree program.

The predetermined program of evening and online classes will allow students to earn an Associate of Arts degree in 18 months or less.

Jose Fierro directs Academic Affairs at LCCC. He says there are a lot of working parents in the community who would like to complete a college degree, but the typical class schedule and traditional student environment don’t necessarily work for them.

“We want to provide an environment in which the adults feel more comfortable and … we can provide the services and they help they need in order to complete their degree program.”

Fierro says completing an Associate of Arts degree through this program would make graduates eligible for automatic admission to the University of Wyoming.

He says LCCC might expand its fast-track degree offerings in the future.
