For those interested in home gardening, growing season extension and small-scale food production, the University of Wyoming Extension will host a conference in Cody Saturday, April 25. Pre-conference workshops will take place Friday, April 24, in Cody and Powell. Pre-registration is required.
Whether you are a new grower or someone who wants to make growing fruits and vegetables a business, this conference has something for you.
Pre-conference workshops on Friday, April 24, will offer hands-on learning opportunities related to season extension, plant production, food preservation and local agricultural history.
The main conference will be held Saturday, April 25, at the Holiday Inn, located at 1701 Sheridan Avenue in Cody. Registration begins at 7:50 a.m., followed by a brief welcome at 8:20 a.m. and lunch at 12 p.m. The event concludes at 3:30 p.m.

Riot Act Inc. is thrilled to announce another great workshop in our Adult Education Program: Intro to Tech. Classes will run Sat. April 18, Sun. April 19, Sat. April 25 and Sat. May 2 from 3-5p. Register on Riot Act’s website www.riotactinc.org/classses.
Intro to Tech: Join a class that introduces you to the fundamentals of what it takes to work backstage. In this class you will learn the basics of what behind the scenes jobs do to light up the stage.
Doug Vogel, long time Teton County resident and lighting designer, will teach you the basics of lighting design. Eric Midgley will walk you thought the basics of using QLab, a software used to run sound, lights, and projections. Macey Mott will guide you through the basics of directing. Lynnette Parry will teach you about hair and make-up for the stage.
This workshop is offered at a low price of just $240 for all 4 sessions. We must have a minimum of 4 students to run this workshop, so get your friends to sign up with you! No prior experience required. (Teens and adults only please.)

Park County Citizens for Sustainability is hosting a free event on Sunday April 26 to gather the community in celebration of Earth Day. There will be interactive stations about composting, native plants and bees, solar installation and more! There is a is a free barbeque following the event. Please go to our website parkcountysustainability.org to register. Participants are asked to bring their own cups and silverware to the dinner. They can also bring their glass to be transported to the recycling center in Powell.
