On September 13th, 2025, from 10am – 3pm the streets surrounding the Homesteader Museum will come alive with bustling steam tractors, smells from fresh popped kettle corn, and music from the Rewinders.

-Vehicle Visions car/truck/tractor show hosted at the Eagles’ Aerie #2426.
-Artisans, vendors, and food trucks! Demonstrators will show visitors memories of yesteryear.
-Kids games/activities will fill the air with laughter.
-Starting at 10am and ending at 2:30pm, the museum will be having a silent auction.
-Free root beer floats are handed out from 12:30pm – 1:15pm.
-Starting at 1:30pm, the Ruby Hopkin Commemorative Pie Auction begins.

Come explore the artifacts that pertain to the historical sites of the Big Goose Creek walking tour. Museum at the Bighorns Museum Director, Carrie Ida Edinger will share visuals of photographs, objects and other items from the museum’s collection that relate to the Sheridan Brewery, Sheridan Manufacturing Company Flour Mill, the Mandel Cabin, and Big Goose Creek. This presentation will share a portion of the museum’s collection as well as tell Sheridan’s history, culture and Big Goose Creek as an essential natural resource to our area.

SCLT Explore History is free to attend and open to all.

The 15th annual Memory of the 8 is a community event held to remember and honor the 8 University of Wyoming Cross Country runners who lost their lives in an accident caused by a drunk driver 24 years ago and to remind the community of the dangers of impaired driving.
The event includes a 5K Walk/Run, an 8-Mile run, and a Kids Run, beginning and ending at M&K Oil, 901 S. 4-J Rd. in Gillette. Registration is free and can be done online at: runsignup.com/Race/WY/Gillette/Memoryofthe8Gillette or on-sight beginning at 4:00 the day of the event.
A barbecue and social time will be held after the run. Donations are accepted and shirts and hats will be available for purchase.

Join Us for the 27th Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming will honor Barbara Cubin, the first woman to represent Wyoming in Congress, for her trailblazing leadership and dedication to the state. Nationally recognized journalist and Boys & Girls Club alum Will Reeve will serve as the featured speaker. The event takes place Wednesday, September 17, at the Ford Wyoming Center. Be a part of stewardship in Grand Teton National Park! Projects vary, work involves light to moderate physical activity. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Tools and protective equipment are provided.

It is a group project so plan on helping others dye their scarves and have a fun community art evening! Space is limited to 8 people, so register now.
