SCLT Explore History: The Wyoming Apple Project - Dayton
SCLT will host an exclusive video screening, featuring Dr. Jonathan Magby, U.W. graduate and plant physiologist, who will discuss the history of apples grown in Wyoming, including the unique locations where they were planted and the broader historical context surrounding those orchards.
The presentation will cover:
The historical origins of heritage apple cultivars (e.g., where they were developed in the U.S. and abroad),
How and why those cultivars were introduced into Wyoming,
The geographic and environmental contexts that made these locations distinctive,
And how these orchards fit into the state’s broader agricultural history.
SCLT Explore History is free to attend and open to all.
