History of the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area - Dayton

History of the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area - Dayton

Join SCLT History Program Manager Kevin Knapp for an in-depth look at the layered history of the Big Goose Natural Area.

From recent archaeological survey findings to the stories that shaped Sheridan’s western edge, this program explores how the landscape evolved over time — including the history of KN Garden, General George Crook’s Cloud Peak Camp, and the historic streetcar system and coal carts that once served the region’s mining districts.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how this land moved from military camp and early settlement corridor to the community natural area it is today.

Tongue River Valley Community Center, Dayton
