Democracy Lab Symposium - Laramie

Democracy Lab Symposium - Laramie
Join the Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research for its third annual Democracy Lab Symposium! The event will take place on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in the Phoenix Ballroom at Laramie Plains Civic Center.
The symposium is the culmination of a year-long program in which participants reflect on the quality of democracy in the state, the nation, and the world, while developing individual and collaborative projects. At this year's event, you'll hear from:
* Lindsey Hanlon on hosting mutual aid parties
* Sonia Rodriguez Hicks on the Deported Veterans Diaspora Mural Project
* Catherine Johnson on James Baldwin, Hannah Arendt, and the politics of love
* Dilnoza Khasilova on the cultural foundations for global democracy
* Ben Wilkowski & Josiah Peck on the language associated with democratic resilience
The presentations will be followed by a break for refreshments and a Q&A with the presenters. We'll also have on hand some of the material read by the Democracy Lab cohorts, in case you'd like to add to your bookshelf!
