Albany County Historical Society Meeting Tuesday, February 18, 2025 @ 7:00 p.m. at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center, 603 University in Laramie, WY. Chad Hutchens and Rachael Laing will present program on the Wyoming Digital Newspaper Project.

Chad Hutchens and Rachael Laing will offer search tips and answer our questions about the Wyoming Digital Newspaper Project, which provides about 5.5 million pages of Wyoming newspaper content from days gone by for historians, genealogists, students, scholars and other researchers.

Chad Hutchens is the current Chair of Digital Collections at UW Libraries where he’s worked since 2008.  Chad holds a BA and MA in Classics from CU Boulder and a MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin. Digital Collections performs a variety of digitization work, but one of his favorite thigs is preserving Wyoming history and answering questions from users.

Rachael Laing is originally from the Chicago suburbs and moved to Wyoming in 2020 to work for UW Libraries as a project specialist in the digital archives. Rachael holds a Master of Arts degree in history at Illinois State University, and has worked at various museums, archives, and historic sites.
