What happens if the U.S. pulls out of NATO?

President Trump said this week that he’s considering pulling out of NATO, calling the security alliance a “paper tiger.” The move would require Senate approval. But it’s the latest crack in a rupture between NATO allies in Europe and Trump over the war in Iran.
