Twenty-four Sheridanites recently got to face off against a chess grandmaster, all at the same time. WyoFile reports Serbian player Luka Budisavljević was in town for the Wyoming Community Foundation Open chess tournament. To warm up, he played two dozen Sheridan players simultaneously. He won all 24 games, but the one that gave him the most competition was Daniel Hoopes, a Sheridan High School student.

A Glenrock High School culinary team has cooked up some new awards. The Glenrock Independent reports Team #2 won the Judge’s Award and South American (cuisine) overall first place at the Cook Around The World competition in Florida. The team was assigned a country when they arrived. They whipped up black bean and pork tacos and savory zucchini ribbons with crispy potatoes. The Judge’s Award came from their homemade tortillas made with no rolling pin or tortilla press.

Laramie County Community College graduated its largest class in the college’s 57-year history. The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reports 976 degrees and certificates were awarded.

And, according to the Kemmerer Gazette, Edna Rebecca Miller recently turned 104! Happy belated birthday, Edna!
