An Evangelist in Central China

For decades, Chinese people were told what to believe. Despite restrictions, thought control is a thing of the past, and people are flocking to religions new and old in an effort to fill the spiritual vacuum left by weakened communist ideology.

In part four of our series "A Nation of Individuals," NPR's Rob Gifford profiles Zhang Aiguo, a 40-year-old Christian evangelist in central China.
